In my hometown of Yongkang, every Spring Festival, we gather together to paste couplets, make dumplings, have New Years Eve dinner, and even go to pay respects. Whenever its the Spring Festival, the whole city of Yongkang becomes very lively.
Every Spring Festival, wanderers who leave their hometown will come back to visit their relatives. We will also go back to our grandmothers house to celebrate the Spring Festival with them during the Chinese New Year.
My grandmother is always very happy when she sees us coming back. She quickly runs over to hug me and touch my little face. Then, Grandma called Mom, Auntie, and Auntie to make a sumptuous New Years Eve dinner, while our children followed Grandpa to paste Spring Festival couplets.
Grandpa stood on the ladder, and a few of us children handed Spring Festival couplets to Grandpa who was standing tall. Everything looks so harmonious, waves of joy and laughter keep coming in.
