The Spring festival ,Chinese New Year,is the most important festival for all us. But we find the western festival become more popular than New Year in the recently years. some people wonder whether the Christmas will replace the Spring Festival in the future.we can find easily Christmas cards become popular with students.Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing to youngsters.Then this worry is fairly unnecessary .Why?Do we should treasure the Spring Festival forever?

In my opinion ,the Spring Festival as the most influential traditional festival have important meaning for us .Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs，sheep，cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned； coupletsare posted on the doors.

Colorful lanterns are hung at the gate.All family members will get together on New Year Eve to have a big meal . During which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school,and shops are closed. At the same time ,everyone celebrates to each other . When people meet on the way， they say to each other "Happy New Year"..At about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers.The whole sky is lighted brightly. We may watch the fireworks excitedly. How busy it is! On the first early morning of one year，Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. At that time，children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents,uncles,aunts and so on.

I think，it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West，a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China. For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals. For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year. And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever.

Michael Jackson, King of Pop, is not only a music talent, but also he is a really kind-hearted person. He made the pop music come to life for everyone, and become symbol of pop culture with Elvis Presley and the Beatles in 20 century. His unique music style, sometimes resounding, sometimes sweet, sometimes radical, sometimes soft. He also created modern MV and magical dance steps—moonwalk. His great influence spread all over the world and everyone study his dance style and singing style.

However, the most important is that Jackson is “King of Charity”. He has donated millions of dollars to the children and the poor through his foundation, charity singles and 39 charities. In the past, Michael usually visited the hospital and orphanage, he willing to spend a lot of money to help others, despite rumors to the libel, he tirelessly ran for the children and environment perseverance. Michael writed so much charity songs, such as “heal the world” and “we are the world”, let’s listen. But such a kind-hearted man, used to suffer from slander and ueasonable accusation. Gradually, he became exhausted and sick. Unfortunately, on June 25, 20xx, king of pop passed away forever, the whole world was shocked. However, we believe his spirit have no die, and will never die, because there is love still in the world and we still need love.

终于轮到我了，我擦了擦手心的汗，走向面试房间。房间的门半掩着，我轻轻地敲开门。房间大而简洁，里面布置了两张桌子和四把椅子。对面坐着3位考官，两女一男，当我看到最左边的那位考官的时候，我吃一惊——这不正是我在电梯里碰见的那个女孩吗，她竟然是考官。在我看他的时候，她也看了我一眼，显得有点吃惊，但随即恢复了常态。坐在中间的另一个考官，问了我几道题，考察我对时事的看法，这些题很难，但我自认为能答道85%。那位与我有一面之缘的再一次赞许地点了点头。

I received a devastating blow to my self—confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me： "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically—challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part， there was still something missing.

As president of English Club， I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately， we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly， all eyes turned to me， and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight， once on stage， I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf， I was a big hit.

I am glad to be here to share my opinions with all of you. My topic today is about Internet.

With the development of technology more and more people are fond of using Internet. It is particularly popular among young people. Just like the coin has two sides internet also has its own advantages and disadvantages.

First of all the Internet has brought people great convenience in getting information entertainment and contact with each other. As for our students it is a useful tool when we meet problems. When we are tired a piece of light music will help us relax. If we have free time we can enjoy movies or interesting cartoons. What’s more we can also watch live programs on the internet or see it later if we are not available at that time.

But there is also bad influence. Some of the young teenagers are addicted to computer games and some even play games all night. Because of lacking in sleep those students can not focus on in the class . As a result they may fail in the exam. When they realize it is wrong to spend too much time playing games it’s already too late.

I have remembered such a piece of news . An excellent student flunked (考试不及格) because he could not concentrate on his study for being too indulged in computer games. He spent nearly all the money on games which was earned by his fathers selling blood. When his father knelt down to beg him to return to school he was too numb to show any regret.

The most serious harm of computer games come from their contents which affects teenagers mental health. Many games involve violence such as fighting and killing. When they enjoy the pleasure of success a violent turn of mind is developed and rooted in them which may induce future violent behaviour in their life.

So when computers entertaining function is highly spoken of such a problem does deserve our serious concern.

In addition long times working before computer also does harm to health. The radiation from the computer can arose many uncomfortable feelings. like a headache poor eyesight.

At last people who are fond of making friends on line should also be careful. Many convicts use Internet as a way to cheat. Although it has many disadvantages Internet has become an indispensable part of peoples life in recent years. In my point of view it’s wrong to blame Internet itself it’s all depend on the way we use it. If we use it in a right way it can be one of the best friends in our life.
