一、抓好入门教学是开展兴趣教学的关键。
“好的开头是成功的一半，”一开始我都注意培养学生良好的学英语习惯，鼓励学生大胆开口讲，不耻下问;认真模仿，并养成整洁规范的书写习惯。无论板书还是作业、试卷的批改，我都严格要求自已规范地书写，争当学生的楷模。
二、 课堂上积极创设英语情景，激发学生学习英语的兴趣。
激发学习动机，培养学习兴趣，是英语教学的原则之一。因此，运用直观的教具或生动的媒体创设情景，营造氛围，尽快把学生带入图画中的“情景”后进行教学，可以引起学生的.学习兴趣，有利于教学活动的展开与深入，拓展学生的思维，提高学生的理解力和语言表达能力。
三、启发学生善于观察和总结，力求使学生亲自地发现兴趣。
(1)诱导学生去发现问题，并启发学生解决问题，增长知识。
在学习colour(颜色)时，许多学生都发现外国人惯用颜色来作姓。我首先表扬这些同学善于观察、总结，并告诉他“black tea”(红茶)，“green tea”(绿茶)，“black coffee”(斋啡)，“a blue/white-collar worker”(蓝/白领工人)等等。这些知识激发了学生无边的兴趣。
(2)鼓励学生寻找并掌握我们身边的英语，深化所学内容。
改革开放给人们吹来了不少“洋”味，广告、商品、游乐场所、酒店、旅游胜地、电视广播媒体等等，对我们的学生产生了极大的影响。我总是鼓励学生去搜索这方面的材料，并联系所学的知识，去深化吸收。
四、通过运用知识，可以使兴趣之火持久不熄。
学习英语，目的在于用英语进行交际。所以在英语教学中，我力求让学生学一句用一句，做到学用统一。例如有时上课故意迟到并向学生说：“i am sorry i am late.may i come in?”学生不约而同地大笑“come in ,please.”有次我感冒咽喉痛，于是讲课前我难过地告诉大家“i have a cold and a sore throat.but i will try to speak as loud as possible.”许多学生同情地说“i am sorry to hear that. can i help you?”我平静地问“can you listen carefully?”“yes, of course. ”在特定的环境中，师生间的简单问答，既说明了学生对某些功能意念项目已熟练掌握、运用自如，又体现了师生间融洽的关系，为教与学双边活动的展开打了情感基础。
我相信在我的教育下，学生们会学得都会有进步的。
